Pakistan completed a commanding 3-0 sweep over Bangladesh in their T20I series held in Lahore, wrapping up the final match on June 1, 2025, with a thrilling seven-wicket victory. The standout of the series was young batting sensation Mohammad Haris, whose unbeaten 107* in the third T20I not only anchored Pakistan’s chase of a daunting 197-run target but also earned him the well-deserved Player of the Series award.

The series showcased Pakistan’s dominance in the shortest format, blending explosive batting, disciplined bowling, and sharp fielding. In the first two matches, Pakistan outclassed Bangladesh with clinical performances, setting up the chance for a clean sweep heading into the third match at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium.

Bangladesh, determined to salvage pride, came out swinging in the final game. Riding on strong top-order contributions and a late surge by their middle order, they posted an imposing total of 196/5 in their 20 overs. But the Pakistani batting lineup, led by Haris, had other plans.

Chasing 197, Pakistan lost two early wickets, but Haris remained unfazed. The 23-year-old right-hander crafted a masterclass innings, combining aggressive shot-making with cool-headed composure. His unbeaten 107 off just 58 balls, studded with 11 fours and 5 towering sixes, left the Bangladeshi bowlers helpless. Supported by solid cameos from Fakhar Zaman and Iftikhar Ahmed, Pakistan reached the target with seven wickets in hand and two overs to spare.

Haris’s performance throughout the series was nothing short of spectacular. He finished as the top scorer, amassing 185 runs across the three games at an astonishing strike rate, making a strong case for his permanent spot in Pakistan’s T20 lineup ahead of major tournaments like the Asia Cup and the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Speaking at the post-match ceremony, Haris said, “I’m thrilled to contribute to the team’s success. Chasing big totals is always a challenge, but we backed ourselves, and the support from the home crowd made it even more special.”

Pakistan captain Babar Azam praised his team’s all-around performance. “It’s a great feeling to win 3-0 at home. Credit to the players — especially Haris, who was outstanding. We’ve shown depth in our squad, and that’s vital as we look ahead to bigger challenges.”

For Bangladesh, the series was a disappointing outing. Despite moments of brilliance, including strong individual knocks by Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan, the visitors struggled to sustain momentum across the three games. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto admitted, “We didn’t execute our plans well enough, especially with the ball. There are positives, but we need to regroup and work on our consistency.”

The 3-0 series win boosts Pakistan’s confidence heading into their upcoming tours and adds valuable experience to their younger players. With emerging stars like Haris stepping up and the senior core performing reliably, Pakistan’s T20 setup looks poised for a strong showing on the global stage.

As fans celebrate the whitewash, the cricketing world watches closely — Pakistan’s message is clear: they are a T20 force to be reckoned with.
